This is beautiful.

I remember first experiencing God at age five when my distantly-related aunt put me on the back of her horse and smiled up at me and said, 'Just ride and I won't let the horse run off with you, honey.' And then she led me around underneath the big California trees by the mountain stable. By the time I got off, I just wondered. And wondering is where it all starts, I guess.

I love this, Emily. I've been dealing with visiting grandboys who are begging to go to church, don't understand why we can't attend services on Thursday, that church isn't there all the time.

And then we talk about how Jesus is always there. One asks if we pray again before our ice cream, and I say, "it's never wrong to be grateful" and I'm stunned, again, at how big those little hearts beat for Jesus.

Oh....and Jennifer's comment? Dead on!

And that sky in Canada does reveal Him in a way differently than where I live at the ocean. We have a family cottage in Ontario and watch the stars fall at night under blankets next to the embers of the fire where we roasted marshmellows hours before. One of my favorite things to do in the whole world! Have a great weekend.
